Lanka Mahavidyalaya was founded on July 20, 1979. The college has affiliation from Gauhati University and is approved by UGC. It has received accreditation from NAAC.

Lanka Mahavidyalaya provides scholarships to their students as per the Government rules. P.M.S. scholarships are provided to the SC / ST / OBC and MOBC students. To know the process on how to avail the scholarship, candidates have to contact the college.
