H.H The Rajahs College (Autonomous) Pudukkottai was established under the name Maharajah’s Free English Medium School in the year 1857. However, the college started its academic curriculum in the year 1879 from a building at Vadakku, and shifted to its present campus in 1891. The College is affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli and is accredited by NAAC.
Vision: The College works towards achieving its vision of becoming a premiere institution by educating the rural youth and promoting research activities. It aims to instill entrepreneurship and creative skills among the students to promote self-employment.

The College has a Placement Cell which handles all the activities relating to the Placement of the students. It invites companies in the Campus Placement drives and facilitates all the arrangements required for the same.
The College campus covers 32 acres of land and the entire area has been utilised for providing infrastructure facilities in the campus. The college constitutes of the Main Block, Botany Block, Commerce Block, L Block, Economics Block, New Block, and MGR Block. The college has a total of 80 classrooms and seminar halls and over 200 computers are available in different departments.
