Indian Institute of Foreign Trade [IIFT Kolkata] established in 1963 is a Deemed to be University. IIFT Kolkata is approved by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC-A and AACSB. Admission in IIFT Kolkata is offered in Management and Humanities at PG/ Diploma/ Doctorate/ Certificate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Kolkata also known as IIFT Kolkata was established in the year 1963 as an autonomous body with an aim of contributing in the skill development for the International trade sector in India. It was declared Deemed to be University in 2002 and is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. The institute is also accredited by AACSB.

IIFT Kolkata while focusing on International Business Management and Strategy has been offering a range of diversified courses like MBA, Ph.D in Management, MA, Post Graduate Diploma in International Business, Post Graduate Certificate courses in International Business and Finance, Certificate courses in Export Import Management, etc.
Candidates interested in taking admission to the institute must visit the official website and fill up the application form to enable them for appearing in the AI Proctoring Based Entrance Exam post confirming their eligibility for the particular course they are applying for. Students belonging to SC / ST / OBC non creamy layer / PWD / Gen-EWS must submit the documents asked along with the form. Candidates shortlisted from the IIFT’s Written Examination will proceed to the next level of selection process i.e. Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview.

Eligibility criteria is different for different courses in various disciplines, hence students are requested to confirm it from the official website of IIFT Kolkata.
IIFT supports the educational journey of the students by providing them various scholarships. The institute operates a Need Based Scholarship scheme under which a subsidy on educational loans for 27 months will be provided to students who have taken the loan and their annual family income is not exceeding Rs. 6,00,000. The institute also provides scholarships offered by Government and various other organisations like Central Sector Scholarship for Higher Education, Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education, Top Class Education scholarship for students with benchmark disabilities, OPJEMS Scholarship, Exim Bank Scholarship, and more.
IIFT Kolkata also awards Scholarship under which 20% tuition fees is awarded to the students pursuing full time / regular degree courses offered by the institute. NSS scholarship is given to 10% of the regular students admitted in the institute following the means cum merit basis and is applicable from 2023 onwards. If the number of eligible students who apply for the NSS scholarship is more than the number of scholarships, in that case the highest means (70% weightage) and merit (30% weightage) scores are considered for evaluation. Students availing any other scholarship of the equivalent amount are not considered for NSS scholarship.

The Corporate Relations and Placement Committee is the managerial body responsible for the placement of the students and acts as a link between industry and IIFT students. The committee is led by the elected students’ members both from Delhi and Kolkata campus. The elected students’ members manage all corporate activities and interactions throughout the year and handle the placement activities on campus. Guest lectures, pre-placement talks, live projects and corporate competitions are among the various activities conducted by the committee. The Committee also conducts TradeWinds and Vivaan (the Annual Business Summit of IIFT in coordination with corporate and student clubs).
Constant efforts by the successive committees have resulted in a number of well known and prestigious companies visiting the campus for recruitments. Some of them are: Adani Group, Amazon, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Godrej & Boyce, Deloitte, Amway, Dabur, L’Oreal, Lubrizol, Hexaware Technologies, Optum, Samsung, ITC Limited, Cipla, Philips, and many more.
IIFT Kolkata campus is one among the three campuses set by the institute; the other two are New Delhi Campus and Kakinada Campus. The Kolkata campus is sprawled over 7 acres of land with its architecture design as one among the best in the eastern parts of the country. The campus is located in Madurdaha area behind Ruby General Hospital. There is one academic block and one admin block and two residential blocks for students and visitors.
