With a high placement percentage so far, the students of Jyoti Nivas College have been placed in technical, non-technical, and service fields for a variety of profiles such as Software Engineers, Developers, Public Relations Officers, HRs, Counsellors, Reporters, Editors, Air Hostess, Actors, Models, Lecturers, and Teachers, etc.
Students need to register with the placement cell and then undergo a 6-months training where they are taught about several aspects of professional life along with aptitude and soft skills by industry experts.
For final-year students, the placement begins in the 5th semester and the candidates need to clear all the rounds of interviews in order to get an offer. Permanent employment is also offered to the 4th-semester students who perform well in the internships.

Jyoti Nivas College was established in 1966 with the vision of excellence, communion, services, and relevance. Sisters at St. Joseph of Tarbes had founded the college. The institution provides comprehensive learning in Science, Arts, and Commerce that create socially committed, morally upright, intellectually enlightened, and spiritually oriented young people.

Jyoti Nivas College is affiliated to Bangalore Central University. In 1999, NAAC awarded it five-star rating. Again in various Re- accreditations it has achieved ‘A’ grade. In 2004, UGC had granted it with Autonomous status along with the title of “College with Potential for Excellence”. In 2017, India today has ranked it 8th among Arts colleges in Bangalore. ‘The Week’ has ranked it 38th for Science and 33 for Commerce.
To meet the excellence, the college treasures well-equipped and spacious library. There are varieties of books available that enrich and support classroom instructions. The vast collection of periodicals, journals, and non-print form such as CDs, videos, etc. are also available. Academia follows strict attendance rules; students need to be punctual in all classes. 75% attendance is required in every subject to appear in semester examinations.
The institution offers PUC courses, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. Students seeking admission in PUC have to fill the details in the online form available in the college website. For admission in undergraduate courses, the candidate must have passed PUC or any equivalent examination recognized by Bangalore University. Marks criteria for Karnataka students are minimum 50%, and for outside students, the minimum marks criteria are 60%. Admission to Postgraduate courses is based on an interview as well as marks obtained in the degree course. For MBA and MCA course, the candidate must have qualified either of the entrance exams such as K-MAT/PGCET/CMAT or any one National level Eligibility Test.
