Goutham College

The year 1986 marks the establishment of the government-funded Goutham Education Academy that is traced to Manjunath Nagar, at Bangalore city, in the Indian state of Karnataka. The Academy’s sponsoring body is the Goutham Institute of Medical Science & Technology that is a registered society as per the Karnataka Societies Registration Act. Dr. A.T. S. Giri, who is the center’s guiding force, manages the Society.

The College is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated to the Bangalore University. Also, since inception, the Academy continues to garner repute in the sectors of Medical and Para Medical Education.

The Institute has established in world-class infrastructural facilities to help the students in leveraging their academic potential and grooming them to become successful business leaders in the future. Besides, the College’s course curriculum is devised to tap into the talents of the students in a multi-dimensional way.

For developing the skills of the College students, they are offered a range of world-class facilities such as Library, Computer hubs, Audio-Visual aids, and Medical care.

In addition to academics, the College organizes a range of co-curricular activities as well; these include cultural events, sporting tournaments, and talent fests. As such, the pupils can pursue their interests and hone their capabilities.

The Academy has, also, entered into tie-ups with several professional organizations; thus, facilitating student-exchange and faculty-exchange partnerships.

The Goutham College conducts a wide range of academic programs across 10 disciplines –such as Medicine, Commerce & Banking, Pharmacy, Education, Information Technology, Science, Paramedical, Nursing Physical Education and Management – among others.

The Goutham College admission procedure is merit-based, personalized, and user-friendly. The selection committee evaluates the candidate’s application as per the results of the qualifying examination.

The Goutham College attendance requisites include the pupils to have attendance over 85% of the working days, both in theory and practice; else, they will not be permitted to appear for the examination. The pupils’ general conduct, performance in the practical classes, and attendance in theoretical and practical sessions - all are taken into consideration for their exam evaluation.

The eligible students can avail several scholarships like the Concerned State Government Scholarships and the Government of India Scholarship – among others.

The Goutham College library is well-stocked, having a large collection of books, newspapers, periodicals, and journals. Further, the pupils can avail media, internet, audio-visual, and video resources. However, the students are given ID cards that have to be produced during their library visits; else, they will not be able to avail the library amenities.

The College houses a 1250 Bed Hospital that contains beds equipped with Orthopedic, Medical, Surgical, Sport, and Pediatric Specialties. To enhance the learning experience, the pupils can visit the Health and Social Community Centers as well. In fact, the College has affiliations with many reputed General and Super Specialty Hospitals. Furthermore, the College operates shuttle service through which the students can visit laboratories, hospitals, and other organizations, for imparting practical experience.
