Darjeeling Government College has established a Career Counselling & Placement Cell. The Cell has tie-ups with various firms and invites their representatives to engage with the students & enlighten them about the latest advancements in the industry. Moreover, students are provided with valuable information and guidance regarding the current & upcoming career opportunities that resonate with their skills. Industrial visits are organised to keep the students aware about the most recent economic developments.

The Students Counselling Cell of the College provides one-on-one counselling to the students. Additionally, experts from various companies are invited to provide career counselling sessions to the students. The College further conducts Skill Development Training Programs to make the students industry ready. Placement Drives are organised to facilitate placement opportunities to the students.

Companies that have visited the College for recruitment are Adecco, Go FlySmart Holidays, Quess Corp, Aditya Birla Group, Excel Solutions, Eureka Forbes, Shoppers Stop, Globiva, Groots Software, Bajaj Allianz, LIC, SBI Life Insurance, Bajaj Capital, Anudip Foundation, etc. 

The campus area of Darjeeling Government College is approximately 4.5 acres and it is situated on the Lebong Cart Road in Darjeeling. The Wi-Fi enabled College campus is divided into 5 academic blocks namely, Geography Building, Library Building, Main Block, Physics Building, and a New Science Building. The classrooms are ICT enabled and equipped with the latest amenities such as computers and LCD projectors. Moreover, CCTVs are installed and guards are available to ensure the safety of students.

Other infrastructural facilities present in the College premises are:

• Library: The Central library of the College is automated and is spread in a 2-storeyed building extended in 2 blocks having a reading room with a seating capacity of around 100 students. The diverse collection of the library consists of 1,00,000+ books, around 4000 reference books, journals, periodicals, rare volumes, etc.

It provides open access to e-material and has subscribed to various e-resources such as N-LIST, NPTEL, Shodhganga, Swayam, ePathshala, Elsevier Science Direct, Academic Journals, OMICS International, eGyanKosh, NDLI, Scientific Research Publishing (SCIRP), e-PGPathshala, INFLIBNET, etc. Students can access these e-resources through the computers and internet connection provided in the library. Reprography and scanning services are also available for the students.

Moreover, all the departments have a seminar library that houses various types of study materials for easy access to the students.

• Laboratories: There are around 26 laboratories for the UG students and other central equipment laboratories for the PG students in the College. The labs are equipped with advanced research amenities to provide an experiential learning experience to the students. Moreover, it has a Computer Centre that can be utilised by the students for their academic and other official purposes.
• Auditorium: The College has an auditorium that is equipped with requisite infrastructural facilities and is utilised to host seminars, conferences, and other cultural programs. It can accommodate approximately 300 people.
• Seminar Hall: There are around 4 seminar halls in the College that are ICT enabled with amenities such as Computers, laptops, LCD projectors, etc.
• Cafeteria: The College canteen serves various snacks at affordable prices to the students.
• Hostel: There are around 3 furnished hostels with requisite facilities for the female students. Independent messes are present for each hostel that serves tasty meals to the students in the dining hall. The hostel premises are maintained and cleaned on a regular basis to provide a comfortable stay to the students. Moreover, CCTV surveillance and guards are present round the clock for the safety of the hostellers.
• Sports: The College provides adequate sports facilities to the students. Sports infrastructure includes a playground, an indoor sports room, badminton court, and a fitness centre with latest equipment. Facilities for sports such as volleyball, badminton, basketball, table tennis, etc. are available to aid the overall growth of the students and improve their physical health. Moreover, students actively participate in the Annual Sports event organised by the College.
•  Medical Facilities: There is a well-equipped Medical Assistance Room in the College that provides basic First-Aid treatment including medical emergency assistance to the students.
• Other Facilities: Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Common Rooms, etc.
