A well-known legal institution was founded in Chandigarh under the Panjab University by the name of University Institute of Legal Studies. Since its inception in 2004, it aims to provide legal knowledge to students in such a way that they can analyse the situation and find the best possible solution for their clients. The institute works on the Negotiation, Advocacy, Research, Interviewing, and Drafting skills of the students.

University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University Fee Structure
The students are given training on methods of counselling, procedures of laws, legal research skills, etc. The college also organises, Client Competitions and Counselling Sessions, Quiz, Seminars, Moot Court sessions, and Group Discussions to upgrade their legal skills.
The students of UILS are also given the opportunity of doing an internship with the Honourable Judges of the Supreme Court, Distinguished Lawyers, the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, various Law firms, and NGOs.
The placement cell assists students in landing jobs with reputed Legal Firms, NGOs, Advocates, Companies, etc. and organises workshops and training programs for the students.
