Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University [JNTU Kakinada] established in 1946 is a State University, currently having 101-150 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. JNTU Kakinada is approved by UGC. Admission in JNTU Kakinada is offered in Engineering, Management and Computer Applications at UG/ PG/ Doctorate level with scholarship benefits to deserving students.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada was earlier known as College of Engineering which was established in 1946. The College of Engineering was a constituent of JNTU Hyderabad and in 2008 it became the part of JNTU Kakinada. It is a State University established in 2008 which is approved by UGC and AICTE, recognised by PCI, and accredited by NAAC with “A+” grade. It is the first technological university in east Godavari district. It aims to enhance the quality of technical education and produce highly competitive and professional engineers with appropriate skills catering to the industrial requirements. JNTUK has jurisdiction over 5 districts and offers engineering, pharmacy, and management programs to the students.

JNTUK has a Placement Cell which provides placement opportunities to the students in reputed firms through campus placements.
