Calcutta Business School Reviews on Placement, Faculty, Hostel by Students

Enrolling in CBS Kolkata was not on my list, but my great scores found me looking up this college. And yes, it does have the old name Calcutta, long after it has been changed to ‘Kolkata.’ CBS ranks as one of the best B-schools in Kolkata that already has a lot of top colleges. It is known to have great infrastructure and other facilities that make it desirable for a student who will spend some of his formative years in this college. They follow the AICTE module for their curriculum. And placements are ok, but CBS have linkages with various foreign universities. This collaboration has helped further studies and research, as this college fulfils this aspect. The college happened to have an amazing grading, and I was pretty much chuffed to get into a college with so many citations. The placements are good and close to one hundred percent. I tried my best at the CAT and various other entrance exams but failed to get good Colleges and CBS happened by chance. My paternal family stayed there and they told me about this College and I went there without thinking much. My decision was backed by my family and honestly, they are proud of me today and I promote CBS among my circle because CBS is that kind of College. I did my major in finance and therefore no one should be surprised when CBS ranks in a survey for their finance course. The internships provided were world-class as we had the option of extending our internship because classes would take care of attendance if you are out on an internship. If the sample of participants from CBS is taken, trust me on the kind of knowledge that we were provided with the subjects, it has to be after IIM-Kolkata. The difference between the two Colleges was the placements, because otherwise, the difference is minimal. CBS accepts CMAT scores and that's the only way in. So, if you think that caption money can get you here, please stay away. The Institute can be ranked with NHSM as IIM and Techno India are rather above Calcutta Business School. On intellectual capital, I would rate the College a 5 on 5. In terms of infrastructure, too, the College is 5 on 5. Facilities are also 5 on 5. The industry interface is good, but it's a 4 on 5. Well, most B-Schools today have international linkages, but on that parameter, the College is quite poor and therefore just 1 on 5. Placements are good and therefore 4 on 5 for sure. AICTE module is followed and the grading system too, gets 5 on 5. I wish I could give a comprehension of the negative parts, but in gist let me explain some of the things that I saw during my time. The management of the College is hardly responsive and if you have any issues, you will have to escalate the issues to the people who are at the top of management. Security-wise, the campus is a little less secured as the campus is not fully covered with cameras and around 70-80 girls study over here, so they can look into this aspect.Read Full Review
