NERIST (also known as North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology), Itanagar established in 1984 is a Deemed to be University, currently having 151-200 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. This institute offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. degrees to the students under the Department of Engineering, Department of Science, and Centre for Management Studies.
Students willing to pursue their higher education can apply here for admissions. Both Online and Offline admission application procedure is available on the official website of the institute. To be a part of this institute, the candidate needs to follow some admission eligibility criteria and selection criteria. Candidates taking admissions in M.Sc courses need to have a minimum of 55% marks in bachelors and 50% marks in Major and Honors in subjects as per the selected program. For admission in the Master of Business Administration, general candidates need to score a minimum of 55% marks and ST/SC category candidates need to score 50%. For admission to the M.Tech program, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in the respective field.
Candidates need to have a valid score in GATE and if in any case, the candidate does not have a qualifying score in CAT/ MAT/ GATE, then they will have to appear in the written test to take admissions in programs like M.Tech, MBA, or M.Sc. For MBA candidates, it is important to have qualifying marks in MAT and CAT, and if the candidate fails to do the same, then they will have to appear in the Written Test, GD, and Personal Interview.

At NERIST, the students get excellent placement experience as it has an active Placement Cell. This cell works to provide effective training to the students and provides them an opportunity to interact with industry professionals and officials. This cell also provides career counselling facilities to the students which assist them in choosing the right career path. To provide hands-on experience to the students, especially the final year students, the cell organises internship programs.
