D.G. Ruparel College of Arts Science and Commerce

D.G. Ruparel College is undoubtedly one of the best institutions in Mumbai. The college is managed and run by the Modern Education Society, Pune. Ruparel College is quite a distinguished institute to pursue your dream. The college has different buildings for each of the faculty, i.e. Arts, Commerce, & Science. The staff at Ruparel College is packed with highly experienced and excellent staff members. The majority of the staff members are into teaching for 25-30 years. The canteen of Ruparel College is its heart. Nearly 30 food items are available in the canteen. Hence, you can relish tasty delicacies whenever you are hungry. Moreover, the food items that are available in the canteen are quite reasonable. Talking about the college’s infra, the building is a little old but the interior is new. The library is the most crowded place in the college as it has a fabulous repository of books available. Also, the college building has a separate reading hall where you can study with your friends. College also has its own playground which is rare in Mumbai colleges. The playground is lush green and has football turf, cricket pitches, and a basketball court among many others. Other facilities of the college include relaxation areas on the lawn, boy’s hostel building, and stationery shop among others. The college also organizes various events and activities every month to keep the students busy with something or the other. The college was started way back in 1952 and since then many famous personalities such as Aishwarya Rai, Ajit Agarkar, Antara Mali, and former RBI deputy governor Viral Acharya have been an alumnus of D.G. Ruparel College. The college’s exposure to social and cultural activities is what drove my attention towards Ruparel College.

The admission process is simple as you fill the college form and then the college list releases a merit list accordingly for the required stream. The faculty also helps in knowing the admission procedure. Hence after spending 4 years in college, I can proudly say that the college is satisfying when it comes to teaching faculty and the extra-curricular activities that college organizes.Read Full Review

I joined Ruparel from FYJC and sticked to it till my graduation. Living in Matunga, this was always my first choice, but it’s also the first-choice college for people living in western suburbs. The crowd from all suburbs of Mumbai can be seen here, and that made college life quite happening. One thing that college lacks in comparison to other colleges of Mumbai is extracurricular activities. Attendance was not so compulsory during junior college, but once I joined for BMS, things changed. BMS is perhaps the only course in the college for which the attendance is strict. Otherwise, students come chill and go as attendance is never an issue at Ruparel. For BMS, the common entrance test is compulsory, and the cut-off too is quite high. For already existing students, the cut-off is lesser than the actual cut-off, which helped me have admissions here. BMS is just like BBA that other universities offer. It was a mini version of higher management studies and was therefore not much of a burden. Events and activities were less, so studying and chilling at the campus was all that I did.Read Full Review
