The Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University was founded in 1978 as a Public State University. It is located in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and Associate of Indian Universities (AIU). Also, MKBU is accredited by NAAC. * For the Ph.D admission at Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, students who have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/ CSIR/ CBSE/ or have qualified for the Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GEST) are exempted from appearing for the Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the university.
