Scottish Church College [SCC], Kolkata was established in the year 1830 as a Private Educational Institution, currently having 88th position in NIRF Ranking 2024. SCC Kolkata is accredited by NAAC-A, and is affiliated with University of Calcutta, Kolkata. Scottish Church College offers admission in the field of Management, Humanities and Science at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Dr. Arpita Mukerji is the Principal.
Motivating and empowering the students to become morally, socially, and intellectually upright since 1830, the Scottish Church College was founded by the first missionary of the Church of Scotland, Alexander Duff. The college is situated in the city of joy to provide academic excellence and increase social awareness among the students.
The college is given the status of ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by the UGC and feels proud as it has educated some renowned alumni like Swami Vivekanand and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the past. Currently, it is owned by the Church of North India (CNI), affiliated with the University of Calcutta, and Re-accredited by NAAC. The college has achieved autonomous status for its Post Graduate department.

The students who show progress in academics get various scholarships in the form of fee concessions and waivers. They can enjoy the benefit of one scholarship/ concession at a time unless they have been awarded a Govt. Loan Scholarship or First and Second-grade Scholarship. Numerous stipends are available for poor students from the Henry Stephen fund and merit-cum-means based scholarships are given to SC/ST students by UGC. The Christian students are provided Scholarships in the form of cash prizes.
