Begin its journey in 1962, the Ramaiah Institute of Technology is a part of the Gokula Education Foundation and became an autonomous institute in 2007. This institute was established to contribute to the development of new India and to fulfill the requirement of engineers in the country.

Admission procedure to postgraduate course MBA is according to the marks obtained in KMAT / CMAT / MAT / PGCET entrance exams. For admission in MCA, the candidate has to clear KMAT or PGCET. Admission in M.Tech course is according to the score obtained in GATE or PGCET of Karnataka. Academia follows strict attendance rules. Students with a minimum 75% attendance are allowed to appear in the semester exam.
