Students have the option of either borrowing the books or manuals they need to refer to or getting the same photocopied. The college also happens to be an associate member of the ‘National Law School of India University’ Bangalore. The campus houses a spacious and modern computer lab, having over 25 laptops with internet connectivity to help learners acquire knowledge and stay updated. And when it comes to carrying out legal research, they can take optimum advantage of web-based legal databases like Westlaw and Manupatra.
Parents and/or guardians of students who wish to keep themselves posted on latter’s academic achievements can log in at “Jagriti”-an online information platform. Parents at any time can easily access details pertaining to attendance, examination results, and assignment scores that are periodically posted on the website. The fully furnished and roomy Moot Court hall serves as the venue for organizing inter and intra-college mock court competitions and proceedings.
A distinct and massive sports complex within the campus offers comprehensive range of facilities for participating in a variety of outdoor and indoor sports formats. A cafeteria situated inside the college campus, serves an array of delectable dishes, representing cuisines from all over the country as well as hot and cold beverages. Students, teachers, non-teaching/administrative staff, and all others attached to the college can avail of the services offered by the on-campus hospital.
The hospital, belonging to the ‘Ramaiah Group of Institutions’ comprises of all the super specialties that a modern-day hospice has. College authorities have made the necessary arrangements for facilitating students to opt for health coverage. The Moot Court Society makes sure that students receive sufficient exposure for mooting, legal research, scripting judgments, and advocating trials. The mock court encourages students to participate in simulated trial competitions, both at the national and global levels. This society also makes preparations for holding ‘National Level Moot Court Competitions’ within the campus from time to time.
Ramaiah Law College also has a ‘Legal Aid Committee’ and a ‘Debate Society’ admiringly called ‘DebSoc’ that work on similar lines as the Moot Court Society. The DebSoc forum is ideal for students who’re keen to put forth their ideas and opinions, and viewpoints. Students, via the DebSoc platform, take part in a variety of international and national debates, model United Nations, and parliamentary debates.
Through the forum of Legal Aids Committee, students perform several activities, including the fostering of legal awareness amongst the marginalized sections of the society. The law college issues the MS Ramaiah Journal of Law that contains articles and reports penned by distinguished and well-known legal personalities. The college students publish a newsletter-Sadhana-and a magazine-Legalia-for articulating their opinions on everything legal.
The cultural committee and the sports committee promote the participation of students in different socio-cultural and sports events. Widespread participation of students is witnessed in annual sports competition, yearly cultural fest, and several other festivals and occasions like Fresher’s Day, farewell, Onam, and Karnataka Rajyotsava.
