The institute was brought into existence to provide higher education to students in the field of management and engineering. Affiliated to AKTU and Board of Technical Education, the college is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
The college follows a transparent admission procedure for each course. It accepts GATE exam for admission in M.Tech. 85% of the seat of Ambalika for B.Tech course is for admission through UPSEE. Admissions in the diploma are done through BTE. 85% of the seats in MBA are given to UPSEE qualified candidate. Also, students giving Ambalika Management Aptitude Test become eligible for the admission directly.
The college owns the library operating in an open access system. The free access to online journals and books make it easy for students to go through the sources they want. Apart from the regular general science magazine, the library offers a subscription of 75 national and international technical, engineering, and science journals. It also has a subscription service of conference proceedings as well as transactions published by leading institutions such as IETE, IEEE, ISTE, etc. The library has an audio visual section providing full-course lectures, VCDs of leading professors from IITs and infinite ambit of frontier vision in education.
