Symbiosis Institute of Design Pune, a part of Symbiosis International Deemed University was established in 2006. SID Pune has accreditation from NAAC and approval by UGC. It provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Design field with multiple specialisations.

Symbiosis Institute of Design has a placement cell that connects students with the industry. This cell works throughout the year, sharing the best internship and job opportunities. Each year a well-known company collaborates with SID Pune to recruit students. The college alumni network at the design firms in India and abroad also aid in placements.
The placement cell sets up activities and training that help students develop their skills as per industry standards. A few employers that have visited SID for recruitment are Accenture, Amazon, BCG, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Hexaware, IBM, Infosys, L&T Infotech LTD, and many others.
Symbiosis Institute of Design is one of the largest institutes in design in the country, that covers over 80,000 sq.ft. The SID campus in Viman Nagar has a modern design studio, labs, workshops, IT facilities, rapid prototyping lab, library, well-equipped classrooms, exhibition areas, conference hall, seminar hall, etc. It is Wi-Fi enabled, a 24*7 ATM service, and a modern auditorium and an academic plaza.
