Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology is one of the top colleges in the educational field of engineering. The college was established in the year 2014, approved by the reputed institution AICTE, and also affiliated with I.K. Gujral University.  The majority of the students were drawn to the college by its strong commitment to education.

The institute offers undergrad and post grade courses such as B.Tech in CSE, ECE, EE, ME, and CE and M.Tech in CSE, ECE, ME. Undergraduate courses such as B.Tech in CSE, ECE, EE, ME, and CE are of 4-year duration. The students will study 8 semesters during the course hence 2 semesters per year. Postgraduate courses such as M.Tech in CSE, ECE, and ME are of 2-year duration and the students will study 4 semesters hence, 2 semesters per year. The college also has a polytechnic / Diploma program which have streams like CSE, EE, ME, and CE. They are of 3-year duration and the students will study 6 semesters hence, 2 semesters per year.

The College takes admission of students on past qualification criteria and an entrance test called the EEE test. Those who are interested in taking the admissions can do so by visiting the college’s website and drop the form online. They can submit the application fee and fill out the admission form online, at the same time applicants may also complete the form in person by visiting campus with assistance from teachers or staff.  The candidates will receive notice that they must appear for both PI and a GD. The selected students will receive an offer letter and have to submit all the necessary documents and the program fees.

The eligibility criteria:

• M.Tech: The applying candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree in B.Tech or BE, need to have a 50% for general and 5% relaxation for other underprivileged reserved castes along with a valid GATE score is mandatory. 85% of seats are reserved for Punjab state students. The remaining 15% of seats are for students outside of Punjab.
• B.Tech: The applying candidate must have passed their class XII, need to have a 50% for general and 5% relaxation for other underprivileged reserved castes in physics, chemistry, and maths as major subjects. If the student is from the medical stream they should have a minimum of 45% in maths for general and 40% for the reserved category.
• Diploma / Polytechnic:
  • After class X: The student must have cleared class X with a minimum of 45% aggregate for the general category.  40% for the SC/ST category in maths, science, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • After class XII: The student must have cleared the ITI examination or class XII. A minimum of 45% aggregate for the general category and 40% for the reserved category in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology as compulsory subjects.

The institute provides scholarships on the following basis:

• SVIET EEE (Entrance Exam Eligibility Test) Scholarship: The students who have passed class XII from Central or any statutory board with a minimum of 60% are eligible for the EEE test. They can avail of the scholarship.
• COVID-19 Scholarship: Students whose parents are affected by the pandemic economically. They can avail of the COVID-19 Scholarship.
• Post Matric Scholarship: Students belonging to the Punjab SC/ST caste with an income below 2.5 lakhs per annum.
• Merit cum Means Scholarship: Applicants with a family income below 1 lac can get the financial aid as a part of this scholarship as soon as they submit the needed docs.
• Scholarship of SC / ST (states other than Punjab): Students belonging to SC / ST community and whose parental income is less than 1 lakh per annum are also eligible for the scholarship.
