NIFT Gandhinagar Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

Since it is a design college so of course the infrastructure also has to be in a good shape. As you visit the college the first thing that you will see is the academic building which is built using simple shapes but still in a complex way. I realized this thing when we were asked to live draw that building because it is so tough to maintain perspective with that building too.

From my personal experience, I can definitely say that as a fresher you will definitely admire the aura and vibe around you because it’s truly welcoming and full of interactions and gatherings. The beauty and greenery is worth admiring. I would suggest that stay working hard since the beginning but don't run after work instead focus on building a good portfolio. The NIFT campus in Gandhinagar is comparatively small. It is surrounded by TCS and DAIICT from both ends. The infrastructure consists of an academic block, Tanariri auditorium, an amphitheater, a basketball court, a volleyball court, an FC building, a Fuel station (mess), a director’s bungalow, and some guest quarters. The classrooms are spacious, the library is large. The medical services are available, in the hostel there is a doctor visiting3-4 times a week and NIFT also appoints a counselor for the students.

The campus life is good and exciting. You have clubs and committees such as social clubs, literary clubs, sports clubs, and cultural clubs. Various events take place in these clubs. The annual fest is also called Spectrum and it is the most celebrated event of the college. Students from other colleges join the fest for sports events, dances, and music. The fashion show is the highlight of the event. Various festivals are also celebrated like Janmashtami, Navratri, Lohri with full enthusiasm. The Garba is the best part. The decoration of all the events is done by the students and clubs. There are sleepless nights to work for the same. The freshers also have a talent show that is fun as well.Read Full Review

The location of the campus is amazing. The college is in between an IT Park. NIFT campus is more extensive than what most fashion colleges have. There was a mess hall, and at a nominal price, one could take advantage of authentic Gujarati food. The campus cafeteria was simply outstanding as on days when I felt like having some cheat food, the cafeteria gave me enough options. The auditorium of NIFT is bigger and better than Pearl for sure. The seating capacity was of 500-600 students. For those who like playing sport, there's a basketball and a volleyball court. Both are in dire need of some repair work as cement has been coming out of the basketball court. Apart from the hostel, there are also some guest quarters at the campus.

Campus life was not so happening as the city itself is laid back. Even during the annual fest Spectrum, the college campus was nothing close to berserk. I was lucky enough to spare some time at the campus with my seniors. Their experience and knowledge have helped me gain some roads more than anyone else. NIFT is good for studies and will place you too. However, you need that kind of crowd to enjoy great campus life. AT NIFT, the crowd was more serious, and you could see everybody wanting to excel in their careers. Thus, even though a less active campus life, NIFT is still great in all the spectrums other than that.Read Full Review
