Banaras Hindu University

To facilitate the students with world-class placement facilities, the university has established an active Career Guidance, Training, and Placement Cell. This cell helps the students in enhancing their overall personality and skills of the students. The major role of the cell is to invite multi-national and national companies for the purpose of on and off campus placement by maintaining healthy relations with the companies. This cell is headed by experienced and expert placement officers who monitor the growth and professional development of the students on regular basis. The cell also provides internship opportunities to the students and organises pre-placement talk sessions to train the students with professional, technical, communicational, and soft skills. In case of any inquiry related to placements, the student can contact the officials of the cell.

The campus of the university is built in an area of 1300 acres and it is located in Ajagara, Varanasi. The campus of BHU is student friendly as it provides a ragging free environment. To provide equal opportunities and personality growth to the students, the university has established prominent committees and cells such as Women’s Grievance Cell, ST, SC, & OBC Cell, Internal Complaints Committee, etc. The infrastructure of BHU is flexible and modern as it allows the students to explore and learn new things. It provides the students with major facilities such as smart classrooms, internet services, laboratories for practicals, and other amenities and facilities like:

• Library: The University consists of a Central Library and various other libraries as per various departments. The name of central library is Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Library and it is fully resourced with books, reading and researching materials. The library facilitates the students by offering them both digital and printed reading materials. The printed resourced include more than 6 lakh books, 10000+ references, textbooks, theses, 290+ printed national and foreign journals, 11+ newspapers, 15+ magazines, e-books, e-journals, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, etc. Apart from general resources, the library also consist a collection of 9000+ rare books and 7100+ manuscripts. The cyber library of the university is equipped with internet and computer systems with a seating capacity of 350+ students and the round central reading hall of the library can facilitate up to 120 students. The library also provides reprographic services that fulfill the stationery needs of the students.
• Computer Center: To facilitate the students with IT services, the university has established an equipped and functioning Computer Center. This center has the latest computer systems, software, and fast internet connection. The computer center is built in a spacious area and provides comfortable chairs and furniture to the students which allow the students to carrying out research work and other tasks easily.
• Hostels: The University has excellent hostel facilities for boys, girls, and international students. The premises of the hostel are student-friendly with excellent accommodation facilities. The rooms of the hostels are furnished, spacious, and clean, and the campus of the hostel is safe as wardens and security guards are present here round the clock. The hostellers are also facilitated with mess services that provide healthy, delicious, and variety of food.
• Sports: BHU provides its students with world-class sports facilities that help the students in building their overall skills and staying fit. The university has a Sports Board that is responsible for providing indoor and outdoor sports facilities to the students like Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Cycling, Soccer, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hockey, Handball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Swimming, etc. 
• Other Facilities: Health Services, Bank, ATM, Guest Houses, etc.
