The reason I chose this college is because admission takes place only through the KCET exam and I have secured a good rank in it. The cut off is very less so I thought only meritorious students will join this college as there are no management seats. This college has a good reputation, alumni network and above all this it’s a government college with less fees. It is located in the center of the city, Bangalore. More than 100 years old college and probably the oldest engineering college of Bangalore is great when it comes to placements. The college has spoon-feeding even for M. Tech students and this is why I will be rating this college very highly irrespective of what others have to say. Once you do engineering from here, you will have great placement opportunities. After missing out during my graduation and the pandemic was at its peak when the placements were about to start the University still made sure that the students have placements. Hats-off for the online company interview that was conducted and never ever in my life did I thought that these things are even possible. The college could have easily excused but it didn’t and the college itself arranged the campus interviews through conferencing inside the campus. I was glad that I was locked in the University hostel during the lockdown because even if we couldn’t go out walking in the hostel campus was enough to cry down the lockdown. Before coming to Bangalore, I never knew about UVCE and that this is one of the oldest colleges of the country. Other than academics, the college has taught me how to deal with people because when you stay at home, you don’t learn how to fend. So, coming out of home is in itself a huge learning. Why students in North are in a horrific state while pursuing and completion of engineering is what I learned here. Engineers in Bangalore are not worried about jobs but about learning the skills. Unlike in Delhi NCR where students are chasing jobs and here students don’t even care. People just keep crumbling in NCR while in Bangalore; people know how to make best use of the resources. So, I guess I have thrown some light upon the capital regions and Bangalore and the difference of mindset what students have there and what they have here. UVCE is all the reasons for country started believing in and making things easier for all. UVCE has always seen engineers as person who will change things around rather than be in their cubicles and do coding for the rest of their lives.Read Full Review
