TOCE provides admission to students for 11 undergraduate engineering/technology specialization programs. All these B.E. programs have a 4-year academic schedule for which classes are held in the campus classrooms. Any student who applies for the TOCE’s B.E. course can choose any one specialization from the streams of CSE, ISE (information science & engineering), ECE, mechanical, civil, biotechnology, automobile, physics, and chemistry.
All the B.E. programs offered by The Oxford College of Engineering have the certification of AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The engineering school registers students strictly and solely by merit, as directed by the Karnataka State Government. The basic eligibility criterion is a pass in PUC/10+2 in Mathematics, Physics, and either Chemistry/Biology/CS/Electronics/Biotechnology/Computer Science.
The candidate also needs to clear papers in English Language and Literature. To iterate, final admission will be granted exclusively on merit basis.
The B. Arch program of the college is a 5-year fulltime course recognized by COA (Council of Architecture). All candidates who’ve secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the 10+2/PUC exam of any approved state or central board is eligible for the program. Additionally, of all the optional subjects cleared by the student, mathematics should have been one of them.
Furthermore, the candidate should achieve at least 40% in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture). The curriculum of the 5-year undergraduate program has been devised so innovatively that the students after finishing the course become all set to launch their career as professional architects. This undergraduate course basically focuses on enabling the students to develop and fine-tune skills needed to work as an architect.
The students learn about various architecture-related topics including but not limited to ‘architecture design,’ ‘theory of structures,’ ‘building management,’ ‘building construction,’ architectural drawing’ and ‘history of architecture.’
TOCE started offering the 2-year fulltime MBA program from 2001 were the first batch comprised of 60 students. The postgraduate program in business administration has the affiliation of VTU, Belgaum and the approval of AICTE, New Delhi. The student has the option of doing a dual specialization in marketing & finance, finance & human resources or marketing & human resources.
The MBA course helps students pick up myriad concepts related to business management and administration. The student also comes to imbibe practical skills that go a long way in cementing robust industry interface. The employability rate of students receives a strong boost through soft skills coaching, business modeling, group projects and assignments, and academic clubs. Well-known professionals who’ve distinguished themselves in their respective corporate domains and visiting faculty hold soft skills courses for the benefit of students.
The department from time to time arranges seminars and symposiums, workshops, expert lectures, MDPs (management development programs), and FDPs (faculty development programs). Any student willing to enroll for TOCE’s MBA course should be a graduate of any UGC approved university or institution. At the same time, the student must have attained at least 50% marks (in any stream) on an aggregate basis.
The Oxford College of Engineering’s MCA Department began operating from the academic year 2001-02. The Department of MCA takes pride in providing a world-class infrastructure in the form networked and air-conditioned computer center, a fully equipped MCA library, and digital classrooms. The syllabus of the MCA program spreads over 3 academic years, where each year consists of two semesters.
The college also registers students for this master degree course in computer applications via the lateral entry mode - students who gain admission through lateral-entry start attending classes directly from 2nd year onwards. Once the students complete the MCA course, they turn into budding IT professionals. It makes them fully prepared to excel as computer programmers and software developers.
A candidate who’s interested in applying for this engineering school’s MCA course should be a B. Sc., BCA or B. Tech graduate of a certified university. At the same time, his or her aggregate marks should be at least 50% throughout the academic term. Additionally, the student should have had mathematics/computer programming/computer application/computer science/statistics/business mathematics at the graduation and 10+2 levels.
