Sikkim University Hostel Rules:
- It is compulsory for every student to stay in the hostel.
- Cooking is not allowed in the hostel rooms due to safety measures.
- Possession or consumption of intoxicants like cigarettes, tobacco, drugs, or alcohol is not allowed in the hostel or university premises and may cause serious consequences.
- Students who own vehicles cannot use hostel premises for parking without a warden's permission.
- Penalties will be charged to the students involved in any kind of damage to the properties of the hostels.
- Students are not allowed to stay in the hostels who failed to clear the back papers in the last two semesters.
- Students are not allowed to install television sets or telephone connections in their rooms.
- Except for the places of guest meetings, female students aren't allowed to enter male hostels and vice versa.
- No guests are allowed to stay in the hostel overnight.
- A prefect is chosen in each hostel by the hostel wardens and it is mandatory for the prefects to maintain an attendance or "in-out register" for the hostel residents.
