UEM’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers an array of B. Tech programs including the B. Tech (CSE). B. Tech (CSE), like all other B. Tech courses, is a full-time on-campus course with a study period of 4 years, segregated into eight semesters. A candidate opting for this undergraduate program in computer science and engineering can choose to specialize in ‘artificial intelligence,’ ‘blockchain technology,’ ‘cloud computing,’ ‘cyber forensic and internet security’ or ‘data sciences.’
All those who have cleared the 10+2 exam from an approved state or central education board are eligible for this B. Tech program. Applicants must have had mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects at the higher secondary stage with biology or chemistry or other vocational subjects as an additional mandatory subject. The candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate in the aforementioned compulsory subjects as well as cleared the JEE (Main) or State level engineering entrance exam for guaranteed admission.
Students can also apply for the program via the ‘lateral entry’ mode which allows them to attend classes directly from the 2nd year. To qualify through the lateral entry route, candidates should hold a diploma of a certified institute, in computer science and engineering. Additionally, candidates have to pass the state level (lateral entry) engineering exam or the IEMJEEE exam for guaranteed admission.
Moreover, B. Sc students who had mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects and achieved 45% marks are also eligible for lateral entry. However, they’ll need to pass ‘engineering mechanics’ and ‘engineering graphics’ papers to begin studying from 2nd year.
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy program has duration of 4.5 years and is a fulltime course. Students in the first four years, develop a thorough knowledge of a diversified range of subjects related to physiotherapy, and in the last semester, undertake an internship. Some of the subjects that BPT students have to cover include anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, orthopedics, hydrotherapy, general pathology, medical sociology, nutrition, community physiotherapy, neurological physiotherapy, cardiovascular, and respiratory physiotherapy, and musculoskeletal therapy.
Candidates interested in pursuing this program have to clear the 10+2 exam of an approved education board with biology, chemistry, and physics as compulsory subjects. Moreover, they’ll have to clear the state level entrance exam or the IEMJEE (for BPT admission) for securing a seat.
After completing the course, students develop a comprehensive knowledge of physiotherapy. The BPT program equips students with the requisite skills and knowledge for working as a professional physiotherapist in a healthcare establishment or setting. BPT degree holders also have the option of starting an independent practice or pursuing the Master of Physiotherapy course.
UEM offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in computer applications. The BCA program is an undergraduate course with a study period of 3 years spread across six semesters. Students during their studies, pick up the basics of computer applications, including fundamentals of programming, database management, software engineering, mathematics, advanced programming, and networking.
Some of the subjects included in the course curriculum include computer architecture, client-server computing, design and analysis of algorithms, TCP/IP, UNIX programming, system software, computer networks, data structures, and operating systems. To apply to BCA, candidates should have cleared 10+2 exam of recognized education board.
Additionally, one of the compulsory subjects at the higher secondary level should have been informatics/business maths/statistics/information processing/computer science/mathematics/computer applications/business information processing. The applicants also must clear the IEMJEE exam or the state level common entrance exam as prescribed by the State Govt. for BCA admission.
The M. Tech (ECE) program offered by IEM is a 2-year course that enables students to gain advanced knowledge of electronics and communications engineering/technology. Any candidate who holds an MCA or B. Tech certification of a university or college approved by UGC can apply to this program. Students also have to obtain at least 50% marks in the state-level PG engineering entrance exam/GATE exam/IEMJEE exam.
