PSG College of Arts & Science is one of the oldest colleges as it was established when India was still under the British rule in 1947. It was PSG & Sons’ Charities Trust that started this college with the main sight on education for all. The college is known for providing world-class education. The charitable trust made education accessible for all by keeping the fees low and today has become a legendary institution as many successors from this college has done wonders in their life. The college manifests an affluent tradition of excellent teaching and research. The college was incepted when education was at the sands of time and has imparted education in that times to break the stereotypes. The college has upgraded its infrastructure from an ancient marvel to modern silk-stocking as the college provides almost every possible facility to its students. The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University and the current principal of the college is Dr. D Brindha. The education quality has been cradled carefully by him as he takes note of students and makes sure that they are ease at the college. The college is known for promoting lifelong learning and deep research and in the streams such as Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Computer Science, Management, Life Sciences & Social Science.
PSGCAS Coimbatore is one of the single largest institutes of Tamil Nadu that offers over 40 UG Programmes, 25+ Postgraduate Programmes, 4 BVoc Programmes, and one Five-year Integrated PG Programme, and 3 PG Diploma courses. The college also provides PhD and M.Phil Programmes in nearly 25 Disciplines.

PSGCAS placements are great as the college has laid out a six-step plan to make sure that the best set of placements happen.
1st Step – Preparing students as per the company needs
2nd step – Companies that are interested, students are made aware of the profiles they are looking for.
3rd Step – Students have the final say to accept or reject the offers made by the companies.
4th Step – Students can register online with the placement cell.
5th Step – Students are allowed to enter the campus during placement drive only after verification of OTP.
6th Step – Many PI mock rounds and a large collection of GD rounds is what students have to undergo during the training.
Over 150 companies have come to PSGCAS for placements and some of the renowned names include CUB, ELGI, ESAF, FACE, EY, BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, KAAR, LT, SANMAR, TCS, and Madras Pharma among others.
Placement Statistics
As per 2020 placement data, over 170 companies visited the PSGCAS campus for placements. Over 1700 students were placed. Highest Salary offered was of 10 LPA. 17 students have been able to grab job offers worth 5LPA or more. Over 200 students have grabbed the job offers worth 3LPA or more.
PSGCAS Campus is spread in over 80 acres of land and has an infrastructure to die for. From lavish seminar halls to amazing sporting facilities and hostels, the college has them all.
Conference Halls/Auditorium
The biggest auditorium of the campus is the GRD Memorial Auditorium which has a capacity of accommodating 1200 people at a time. Besides that, there are two large seminar halls in School of Commerce Vagai Hall, and School of Commerce Kaveri Hall as both has the capacity of accommodating 400+. Apart from that, there is few other halls with a capacity of accommodating 250 and 150 people. There’s one EDC training hall, a council hall, and a board room.
Labs
There are so many labs and some of them worth mentioning are the computer labs, bio informatic labs, statistics labs. One of the best though has to be the media lab that is well equipped with latest technology and functioning. It has workstations that are used by TV, Music, and Film industry.
Gymnasium
When the fit India movement started, the college already had 5 world-class gymnasiums ready for their students. Students can have a trainer and design their fitness program accordingly. Both girls and boys have access to the gym and they both can use it during the hours the gym remains open. So, from weight to fitness both can be managed at the world-class gyms of the college.
Indoor Stadium
The indoor stadium of the college is epic as the flooring of the stadium is done with maple wood imported from the USA and has a seating gallery of 3k+ students. The indoor sports stadium is 80/28 metres in size and is capable of holding two volleyball, two basketball, and 8 badminton courts. The playing area is great as students can play without any fear of getting injured in the indoor sports complex of the college.
Hostels
There are quite a few hostels at the college for both boys and girls. The rooms are as available from double sharing to 6 beds rooms. For financially weaker students, dormitory is also provided and students can pick and choose the room that suits their budget. The hostel is surrounded by beautiful landscape and has plenty of areas around the hostel where students can move around for a walk in the evening. Hostel Day (PONVASANTHAM) is celebrated every year at the campus that hosts a number of programs, events, and students are served various delicacies.

PSG College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore is an independent and autonomous body which is affiliated to Bharathiar University. It is accredited with an “A” grade from NAAC (Currently in its 3rd cycle) and assigned with Star College Status by DBT-MST. PSG was also ranked nationally as 11th by NIRF for the year 2018.
The aim of the PSG family is ‘strive to imbibe in the customer through Knowledge, the spirit of love and service.’ They boast of an education policy that is value and need-based. And also a deliverance of quality, consistent education with the means of upgradation that requires commitment, and teamwork.
Academia offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The admission in undergraduate programs is according to the merit obtained in the qualifying examination. For selection in postgraduate programs, the admission is through an entrance exam or a direct basis.
The campus houses an extensive library spread over 24200 sq. Ft. that can accommodate up to 400 students at a time. It has been stocked with over 120000 subject books for all the subjects taught at the college. Their library presently subscribes to 225 journals from both national and international publishers. It has also been equipped with around the clock Wi-Fi connectivity. College management is strict when it comes to discipline, and students must have a minimum of 75% attendance to appear in a comprehensive examination.
