The IEM Group offers B.Tech courses in various specializations. It includes Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science & Humanities, Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. For admissions to the B.Tech courses, a candidate needs to have successfully qualified their 10+2 examinations in Science Stream. The selection is based on the WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or JEE (Mains) scores. The institute also features a separate NRI and Foreign Student quota.
The courses are offered at IEM College of Engineering. The primary aim of the Group is to create competent and trained engineers who are ready to contribute towards the growing needs of engineering, science, and technology.
Bachelor of Computer Applications program offered at the IEM School of IT is aimed to provide high quality training to the students in the field of computer technology. The department constantly upgrades its syllabi with the changing trends from the field of Computer Science & Technology.
The minimum eligibility to enroll for this course requires a student to have passed 10+2 examinations with English and either Mathematics/ Computer Application/ Computer Science/ Information Practices/ Business Economics with Business Mathematics/ Basic Science II.
The Department of Business Management at the IEM-Ashram Campus offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) program for 120 students each year. The program is intended to strengthen the foundation of students in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, and Functional Management. The course furnishes a blend of theory and practical aspects of management to help students develop into competent entrepreneurs and managers.
In addition to the classroom training programs, the institute organizes regular seminars, case study sessions, summer & winter internships, R&D programs, etc. A student needs to have successfully cleared his/her 10+2 examinations from a recognized board.
IEM Group offers its M.Tech program with specializations in CSE, IT and ECE. The program has been designed to enable students to come up with solutions for complex engineering problems as well as design system processes or components. These meet the growing needs with specific consideration to public health & safety, and other environmental considerations.
For admissions, a student needs to secure at least 55% in their B.Tech examinations. The total number of seats available is 120.
A 2-year program, M. Sc. in Information Science is offered to students who have completed B.Sc. in Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or Electronics. A candidate who has completed BCA with a mathematics background is also eligible to apply. They need to have secured at least 55% in their graduation exams with Computer Science, Mathematics or Applied Physical Sciences as their subjects. Students appearing in their final year are also eligible to submit their applications.
The total seats on offer are 30 students each year, and the program has been divided into four semesters.
Both Masters in Business Management and Post-Graduation Diploma in Management are offered by the IEM College of Management. The course aims to cater to the basic requirements of the changing business environment. The curriculum aims to develop quality management professionals who are familiar with the different managerial skills and knowledge required to the business environment. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, the curriculum largely stresses on enhancing communication skills, decision-making skills, and problem-solving ability of the students. A student needs to undergo internship and work on different industry projects, dissertations, and presentations during the entire course.
IEM Group also has tie-ups with foreign universities and companies to provide an opportunity for its students to take part in industry visits, conferences, and study tours. The Management courses offer specialization in Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Operation Management, Business Analytics, and Management Information System. For admissions to both the programs, a student needs to have obtained at least 50% marks in their graduation examination. Also, students need to have a valid CAT/WBJEE MAT score to apply for MBA and a MAT score to get admitted into the PGDM course.
Students also get an opportunity to do an internship at Sydney under the PGDM program and Singapore under the MBA program.
