Asia Pacific Institute of Management exclusively enrolls students for a range of PGDM courses where each program allows the candidate to specialize in a specific management field. These streams include international business, marketing, financial services, and banking. It is entirely up to the student to decide in which particular specialization he or she wants to earn the PGDM degree.
All PGDM programs of APIM have two-year duration and approved by AICTE.
Following are the PGDM programs on offer at APIM:-
PGDM (Marketing Management): The syllabus of the postgraduate diploma in marketing management imbibes the candidate with thorough knowledge about marketing basics. Students get a solid grounding about the contemporary commercial world and the instructions and lessons enable them to become career-oriented marketing professionals. The students, beside acquiring knowledge about marketing principles, also gain info about financial management, management accounting, decision science, managerial communication, and business communication.
Once a student completes this course, he or she can apply for an entry level job public relations specialist, product marketing manager, content marketing specialist, market research analyst, and so on. In order to qualify for this program the applicant needs to be a graduate (any discipline). Also, the candidate has to attain at least 50% marks in the final exams on an aggregate basis.
Additionally, the applicant has to obtain the minimum cut-off marks in any national level management entrance exam like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, and so on. Nevertheless, the college will grant admission based on the candidate’s performance in GD and PI sessions.
PGDM (International Business): A student aspiring to secure a seat in PGDM (IB) program can look forward to a bright career in the international business field. This specific PGDM course has singular significance in the era of fast-paced globalization and digitalization. The PGDM (IB) of APIM is a 2-year full time program spread across six terms.
Students selected for this program become familiar with international finance, global trade, international marketing, foreign currency management, Greenfield investments, international trade logistics etc. Alongside completing the subject-matters included in the program, the students have to complete a research project of six-month duration. Any candidate who wants to apply for this program must possess the bachelor’s degree of an UGC/AICTE/AIU approved university.
However, the score obtained in XAT/MAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT and performance in GD/PI will determine a candidate’s final selection.
PGDM (Banking and Financial Service): The PGDM (BFS) program prepares the aspirant for a shining career in banking and financial services sectors. This postgraduate management program equips the students with thorough info about finance and banking sectors. At the same time, the course helps students develop and fine-tune their technical and managerial skills.
Some of the important topics which students cover during the 2-year academic period include organizational behavior, managerial economics, macroeconomics, e-business, innovation and entrepreneurship etc. And similar to PGDM (IB) course, students have to finish a research project of six-month duration. Once a student receives the PGDM certificate, he or she can apply for positions including but not limited to credit manager, investment banker, and corporate banking manager.
The aspirant can also find jobs both in the public and private sectors in commercial/industrial segments like infrastructure, financial services, insurance, banking, media entertainment, consumer market, IT and ITES. The basic academic qualification necessary for applying to this program is a bachelor’s degree (arts/science/commerce) with at least 50% in aggregate. The candidate also needs to achieve the minimum prescribed score in any national level management entrance exam like CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/GMAT/CMAT.
Nevertheless, whether a student finally secures a seat or not will depend upon his or her performance in GD/PI.
Executive-PDGM: The executive-PGDM program of APIM is ideal for entrepreneurs, managers, supervisors, and management level professionals. Successfully completing this postgraduate management program enables the management executives to further their careers in the corporate domain. The program enables the candidates to update their knowledge on various management concepts like personnel management, operations management, financial management, accounting, marketing management, and so on.
The duration of the executive-PGDM program is 3 years and offered on a part-time basis. Since classes are held on weekends, the candidates do not have any problem in attending to their jobs. A professional who wishes to take up this program, must be a graduate (any stream) having attained a minimum of 50% in aggregate. Additionally, the applicant must have amassed 2 years of professional experience after obtaining graduation certificate.
The institute conducts a written test and a personal session at its campus before granting admission to the student.
