Sathyabama University now known as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology is a renowned university that was established in the year 1987. This three-and-a-half-decade old institution has made its mark in Science and Technology. Apart from that, educational programmes in fields such as Law, Engineering, Dental Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Management, Arts, Allied Health Sciences are also been offered. Over the years, the institute has persistently adopted and sought some innovative ways so that they can improve the quality of studies. The university founded by Col. Dr. Jeppiaar.

There are a total of 11 schools that offers around 80+ UG, PG, and PhD programs. The institute also has developed CDOE (Centre for Distance and Online Education) that offers 5 programs (2 UG, and 3 PG).

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology admissions are entrance based as well as merit-based, depending upon the course. Sathyabama University courses range from Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Design, to Pharmacy, etc. Over 50 UG courses are offered by the university and the applicants applying has to have a 12^th pass certificate with a certain amount of percentage to be eligible to apply for admissions at the university. Nearly 30 PG programs are also offered by the university and most of them have entrance-based selections. Besides entrance, a valid UG degree from a recognized university is must to be eligible to apply for PG admissions at Sathyabama University. For PhD programs, entrance, screening and a valid PG degree is must. Some of the entrance accepted for certain courses are listed below:

• Start with registration process by entering basic details.
• To generate login id, verify the email-id.
• Login with the credentials provided and upload the documents.
• Pay Rs. 500 application fee and submit the application.

Documents that need to be uploaded are:

• 10^th and 12^th marksheets.
• In case of PG program, UG Degree needs to be uploaded.

Sathyabama University Scholarships are of two types and they are:

Institutional scholarships and Other Scholarships:

Sathyabama University has engaged itself with various NGOs to provide required scholarships to the one who needs it. The scholarships provided by the institute are for the students who possess merit. The merit scholarships are offered to the students who are top 25 Rank holders in AISEEE (All India Sathyabama Entrance Examinations). The students who win this scholarships are given 100% waiver from their tuition fee for the entire term of their course. Other government scholarships that are available at the university are intimated to university students and students are provided full support in availing these scholarships. There is some eligibility criteria laid down for availing the government scholarship and there are:

• Students should have scored 70% or more in 10^th and 12^th.
• Family’s annual income should be 1 lakh or less.
• As a gesture of comprehensiveness, students with physical disability are given relaxation in their fees.
• On the similar lines, victims of acid attacks are also awarded scholarships.
• All the students who have achieved some significance in sports at higher level are given scholarships.

Another scholarship that the institute provide is Dr. Jeppiaar Remibai Scholarship

This scholarship is one of the most notable scholarship programs of the university as every year students who do well in their program are awarded scholarships under this scheme. The topper of any program of the university gets 30% scholarship while the students who come 2^nd and 3^rd are awarded 20 and 10% scholarships. This scholarship is entirely on the performance and any background or anything is not taken into consideration while awarding this scholarship as this scholarship motivates students to work harder every semester.
