Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) is situated in Dehradun, Uttaranchal and was established in the year 2006. For PhD admissions: The applicant has to clear an exam conducted by the UU, known as UURET. Both part-time and full time Ph.D. course is provided by the institute. The exam is conducted twice in a year, which is January and June. A MCQ based exam is conducted and if the applicant clears the exam with 50% marks then he/she has to appear for an interview. And the applicant has to present a pre-research proposal. Within 3 months of submission of the final thesis the external viva is conducted.

The placement department of the UU is known for its quality. The placement cell of the UU is an integral part of the UIT. The institute gets the best of the placements for the students. The institute organizes guest lectures, workshops, as well as seminars for the students’ skill development. Other labs available for the usage of CSE branch are Communication lab, Data structure, Computer network, DBMS lab, etc.
Various labs are available at the institute for the civil engineering students to learn practically. They are namely, soil testing, surveying, fluid mechanics, Geology, civil engineering software lab, hydrology, building & concrete material lab, and many more to be mentioned.
