St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) - Mangalore is an autonomous institution registered under the trust “Diocese of Mangalore, Social Action Department ''. The institute was established in the year 2002 to provide excellent education in Engineering, Computer Applications, and Business Administration at UG, PG, and Ph.D levels. It has been granted UGC autonomous status since 2021, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, approved by AICTE, and is accredited from NBA and by NAAC with “A+” grade.

Being a religious minority institution, admissions are governed as per religious minority institution status as asserted by the Karnataka Government. Students are selected on the basis of the merit secured by them in the qualifying exam. Also, the selection of the candidates will be provisional and as per the norms prescribed by VTU, AICTE, and Government of Karnataka. Qualifying candidates meeting the criteria must appear for the entrance test and interview administered by SJEC.

Open the official website of SJEC >>> Press the menu bar >>> Select the “Admissions” option >>> Select the UG/ PG/ Research option >>> Click on “Apply Now” >>> Fill up the form >>> Hit the “Submit” option.
Post submitting the application students will be contacted by the authorities for the further proceedings relating to admission.
To lend monetary support to financially weak students, SJEC provides various scholarships and financial aid. It is offering a number of Central Scholarship and AICTE Scholarship Schemes under the National Scholarship Portal. A few of the scholarships under this portal are Merit cum Means Scholarship, Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships, Scholarships for girl child under PARGATI Scheme, Scholarship for differently abled Students under SAKSHAM Scheme, Swanath to the students of Orphan, and more. Additionally eligible students can also apply for the scholarship under State Scholarship Portal, avail educational loan facility, educational assistance from Karnataka Labour Welfare Board, and more other benefits.

The Placement Cell of the college works continuously to fulfill the ambition of the students of getting the right job and to positively influence the industry. The Cell’s objective is to equip its students with practical knowledge and skills mandated for the selection via campus placement. It also arranges career counseling to encourage students to appear for competitive exams like, GATE, GMAT, NetPro, ULKAT, GRE, TOEFL, etc. With the efforts of the team, a Placement consortium of Mangalore region has also been formed to save time and cost of campus selection work.
