The placement cell at the college is called the Human Resources and Development Department. It provides placement, soft-skills, and technical skill enrichment training to the students that help in building their confidence. It works on educating the students about the working norms of the industry.

The Roles of the HRD Department are

• Organising campus interviews for final-year students
• Providing training for gaining better skills
• Career counseling through career guidance sessions by corporate personalities, etc.

500+ recruiters from IT, Non-IT, Core, and Product companies recruit students for their companies from SJBIT. Some of these recruiters are Microsoft, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, Mindtree, Bosch, DELL Technologies, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Amazon, Schneider Electric, Capgemini, and many more.

The Employment areas/ Job roles offered to the students differ for each course. Some of these roles are Computer Vision Engineer, Applied Machine Learning Engineer, Big Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, Statistician, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, etc.

The students completing their education from SJBIT can be employed in various fields and domains of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, the Power sector, the IT Sector, the embedded/automation sector, allied sectors, multidisciplinary domains, etc.

• Entrepreneurship Development Cell: The EDC assists aspiring entrepreneurs and ensures they have access to a platform to pursue entrepreneurship. It organises several activities to generate entrepreneurial skills in the students so their goals can be achieved faster. 
• Hostel: Dorms for boys and girls are provided on the campus premises with facilities like sports rooms, furnished rooms, laundry services, ATMs, CCTV surveillance, and dining halls.
• Transportation: A proper transportation facility is provided to the students from campus to famous places in Bangalore.
• Parking: A spacious area is separated for parking where students and staff can park their vehicles free of cost. The area is monitored by full-time security to ensure the safety of the vehicles.
• Cultural Fest: The institute annually organises an Intercollegiate Techno Cultural Fest called VARCHASVA. Students from around 60 engineering colleges in Bangalore attend the fest. Celebrity shows, DJ Shows, and Student Talent performances are the main attractions of the event.
• Library: The institute has a Library and Information Centre with a collection of 45000+ volumes of books, 28000+ e-books, and 6500+ e-journals. It is well-furnished and aims to provide effective knowledge to the students.
• Physical Education and Sports: The College believes in the development of the physical activity of the students and has introduced several activities to encourage this behavior. It has facilities and equipment for both indoor and outdoor sports.
• Cells and Committees: The University also has a Grievance cell, J&K cell, Anti-Ragging Committee, Electoral Literacy Club, Equal Opportunity Club, Internal Complaint Committee, etc. The details of these cells and committees are on the institute’s official website.
