The College’s 4-year, full-time, undergraduate-level BDS course has a seat intake of 100. Out of the total number of seats, 15 are for Foreign Nationals, and 5 are institutional preference ones. As mentioned earlier, the KEA conducts counseling for student admissions. All the same, the seats that are not filled after the counseling rounds, get filled as per KEA’s instructions.
To be eligible for the course, the candidates have to pass the UG NEET exam. Further, they must clear their 10+2 standard examinations or equivalent, from recognized Board / University, having minimum 50% aggregate marks. Their subjects should include English, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in the 12th standard.
The course graduates have job options in the dental field in roles such as General Dentist, Lecturer, and Short Service Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces, among others. Also, they can join a Research Institute or start their own dental clinic.
The College conducts the full-time, 2-year diploma course in Dental Mechanics to familiarize the students with the basics of Dentistry. Consequently, the learning of the Diploma course helps them to get a better grasp of the subject’s advanced conceptual framework. As such, the learning of the course is helpful if they go on to pursue the degree courses at Bachelors and Masters levels.
The eligible candidates are those who have cleared their 10+2 standard exams, having minimum 50% aggregate marks from Government-accredited Boards. Moreover, their subjects should be inclusive of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
After they complete the course, they can work in areas of Dentistry as Public Health Inspectors, Family Physician, Community Program Manager, Community Development Expert, and Community Counselor. Moreover, they can work in healthcare centers of military establishments.
Under the College’s postgraduate-level MDS courses, there is a choice of 5 specializations. These include Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Periodontics, and Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry. The programs are full-time ones that run for 3 years; each has an intake of 3 seats.
As per the College’s MDS course’s eligibility criteria, the aspirants have to successfully complete the PG NEET examination. Besides, they have to complete the BDS course from universities that the Government of India recognizes. Or, they must furnish educational qualification documents that are recognized by the Dental Council of India.
Post successful completion of the MDS program, the graduates can take up roles in the dental sector as Senior Lecturers, Researchers, and Specialist – to list a few.
