Government Engineering College Gandhinagar Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

The campus is planned in such way that you could only see 2 or 3 storey buildings. There are no grounds for playing. The classrooms are big enough but the benches are not maintained, some fans are not maintained, labs in the college do not have enough equipment, and the computers are not working properly.

Campus life is not that great as there are no fests. Yes, there are clubs which help you to improve and polish your skills. They also guide you in the right path. There are few seminar sessions conducted by the college from which some are useful for your career.Read Full Review

There are 8 buildings in all and all the buildings have a number assigned to them. Our department building was number 5 and right next to that was the library which was building number 4. There are 3-4 small gardens inside the campus. The labs had a good set of computers and all connected to the server that had a Lan speed of 30-40 Mbps. The entire campus also was fully Wi-Fi and all the buildings have security cameras installed. The college canteen was average as I just had tea or coffee there because the one who has had food there already told me to dare if I try food from there.

I just went to college twice a week maximum. I didn’t enjoy my college life as I should have but on the days I spend at the campus, were breathtaking. Some students used to do their assignments and I came to the college to copy that and present it when my turn came. More than 80% of the students did the same as there were just 4-5 students who did the assignments. The events were not that big and GTU fest hardly saw students from GEC participating. The college is spread in acres and acres and one doesn’t have to use the college gym because one has to enough walk inside the campus that most of the students at the campus became fit automatically. The library house was nearly 500 meters away from the admin block. A complete bungalow-styled library had all the academic and non-academic books. The workshop building had as many 6 workshops as the building name itself was 6 workshops. There are separate buildings for all the departments and all the department buildings were of the same shape and size. The college campus has SBI ATM and 2 shops that also accept online payment. There’s enough greenery in and around the campus to keep the temperature cooler than the normal temperature of the city. There’s also a student start-up and innovation center at the college as the college has funded many ideas. The canteen was definitely not satisfactory but there are enough places in the areas adjacent to the college.

I think all my seriousness about studies was till by the time I did my UG. Once I entered GEC, I saw that students are living on their own and are more interested in doing self-study. I liked the idea and I also followed the same suit. The crowd at the campus is a little boring as you will find more introverts at GEC than at any other place. The college hosted all the events that an engineering college in general does. The events saw the introverts dancing like nobody’s watching.
