Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University [DBRAU], Agra established in 1927 is a State University. DBRAU Agra is approved by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC-B. Admission in Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University is offered in Engineering, Management and Humanities at UG/ PG/ Diploma/ Doctorate/ Certificate level.
Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University - DBRAU Agra was formerly known by the name Agra University when it was founded in 1927. It was renamed as Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in 1995. The university has its jurisdiction over seven districts of Agra: Division Agra, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Aligarh, Mathura, Etah and Hathras. Presently, there are approx 200 colleges affiliated with this university. It was declared a State University by UGC, and is accredited by NAAC with “B” grade.
Vision: DBRAU Agra is working with a vision of becoming a quality education institute by disseminating quality education, skills, and moral values. It strives to become an ideal partner to the industry and society for their growth and expansion.
Mission: Its mission is to contribute to the spread of knowledge via research and publications by developing aptitudes, skills, and consciousness in human beings.
The State University was set up to impart quality education in the field of management, engineering, humanities, and science. B.Sc, MA, BA, MBA, BBA, BE, B.Lib, M.Lib, B.Com, M.Com, B.Voc, etc courses are offered by the university in the 15 residential institutes functioning in the four campuses of the university and colleges affiliated with it.
Admissions for PG courses in the university are subject to the entrance test or academic performance or a combination of the two. Reservation for the candidates is according to the rules by the UP Government. Students interested in enrolling to any of the institute functioning or affiliated with the university must fill up the online application form post confirming the eligibility requirements of the courses. The university is operating through its four campuses namely: Paliwal Park, Civil Lines Campus, Chhalesar Campus, and Khandari Campus. All the four campuses of the university have world-class infrastructure with advanced academic and residential facilities. Students are provided necessary amenities required for effective learning and pleasurable stay. The central library of the university is located at Paliwal Campus covering 2500 square meter area. The three story library building holds a collection of 1,35,000+ books, 12,000+ dissertations, 10,000+ periodicals, and more digital and printed learning resources. Apart from the central library there are many departmental libraries equipped with latest books, journals, periodicals and other learning resources.
Other than the academic facilities, the residential facilities in the campus include canteen, post office, convocation ground, bank, Jublee hall, Jai Prakash Sabhaghar, community radio station, Ambedkar bhawan, etc. Hostel accommodation is provided to girl students with basic facilities in the hostel rooms. To accommodate visitors and guests, a guest house is constructed on the premises.
