Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya: Admission 2025, Fees, Rankings, Scholarship, Jalandhar

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya was founded in 1927 and since then it has become one of the prominent and leading colleges that impart education to women in the country. It has been approved by UGC, recognised by NAAC, and affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. It functions under a private organisation namely DAV College Managing Committee.

The college imparts education for girl students in the field of IT, Humanities, Commerce, Computer, and Science. The vision of the college is to educate women by providing a holistic educational environment that can make them confident, independent, and empathetic global citizens.   

The constant efforts of the faculty members of the college foster the hidden talent and capabilities of students along with strengthening their interpersonal skills and innovative thinking at the same time.

Admission procedure starts immediately after the announcement of the previous year's results. However, if students want to ensure their seats in the college then they can register themselves before the announcement of results. Admission is given on a first-come-first-serve and merit basis. The College Admission Form must be signed by Parents or Guardians. Students migrating from GNDU to other universities are required to fill out the eligibility form. Students with foreign nationalities who want to take admission must have a “Students’ Visa” and a “Recognition Letter” issued by the Association of Indian Universities, Kotla Marg, New Delhi.

Some of the Scholarship programs come under non-government scholarships. These non-government scholarships include Sh. Ram Daya Kapila Trust Scholarship, Udaan Scholarship (by the Alumni), Smt. Laxmi Rishi Scholarship, Nishkam Sewa Bharti Trust Scholarship, Sh. V.N. Sharma Scholarship, Manav Sehyog Scholarship, etc.

The college also offers some government scholarships namely Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, SC, and OBC students, the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students, the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu and Kashmir Students, and the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme.
