The foundation stone of Dr. Harisingh Gour University also known as Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Sagar was established in 1946. It was formerly known as the University of Saugor. In 2009, it was approved as a Central University by the UGC. It is also recognised by AICTE and accredited by NAAC with “A+” Grade.
The University envisions of becoming an academic centre that provides advanced education in various disciplines of Sciences, Arts, and Technologies for the upliftment of the young generation and to make them globally skilled and competent individuals. Admission Regulations:
It is mandatory for all the applicants to qualify Common University Entrance Test for respective UG and PG programs before taking admission to the university. They also have to show their original marksheet of the qualifying exam at the time of counselling. If their result has not been declared by the counselling date then they can show a certificate assigned by a competent authority to prove that they have appeared in the exam. They can get brochures from the campus or download them from the website. The Online Counselling fee can be paid by the candidate separately through the Online Counselling Portal from the official website.
Students of the university can get Government Scholarships such as Post Metric Scholarship, National Scholarship, Post Matric Scholarship Madhya Pradesh, MPTAAS Scholarship Madhya Pradesh, and other State Scholarships. The Placement Cell of Dr. Harisingh Gour University aims to develop students’ personalities and enhance their academic skills and knowledge to build their careers.
