Periyar University was established in 1997 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It covers 4 districts which include Salem, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Namakkal. It was established with a goal of becoming a global leader in research and innovation and make significant contributions through quality education. It is a State University approved by UGC. The University is accredited by NAAC with “A++” grade.
