Diploma in Pharmacy is a two-year course that is designed to impart knowledge in the field of pharmacy in a theoretical as well as practical manner. The 500 hours of practical training is necessary that needs to be completed in the time of not less than three months. Students need to do this training in Government Hospital/ Pharmacy that is recognized by PCI.
Candidates willing to take admission must have passed PDC/ 10+2/ Higher Secondary/ Intermediate examination with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The PDU in vocational course with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/ Biology that is conducted by Kerala Government only.
Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year course that is essential for the person who wishes to make a career in the field of medicine. Candidates willing to take admission must have cleared 10+2 with Chemistry and Physics as compulsory subjects and any one of the subjects like Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology with at least 40% marks altogether.
D.Pharm completed candidates are also eligible to apply for this course and they are directly admitted to the second year of this bachelor course. Students are required to undergo training in Approved Hospital/ Pharmaceutical Manufacturing House/ CSIR research labs for not less than 45 days or one hundred & fifty hours after the successful completion of the third or fourth year.
Master of Pharmacy is a two-year or twenty-four months course that imparts advanced knowledge in the field of medicine. The specializations offered are Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Quality assurance.
Candidate willing to take admission must have passed the B.Pharm program of recognized University or any other equivalent course recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India or any Indian University. Candidates must possess a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
Institute offers three-year full time and four-year part-time doctoral course in Pharmaceutics. Candidates who have completed the M.Pharm course by recognized University. This course deals with the creation, development, characterization, and production of dosage forms along with its action and disposition in the human body. Candidates also get opportunities to work as Consultant Pharmacists, Dispensary Manager, Clinical Pharmacist, Community Pharmacist, Medicines Safety Manager, Hospital Pharmacist, Medicines Management Technician, Senior Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistant, Medical Transcriptionist, Manager of health care unit, etc. After the course, completion students can also establish their pharmacy, druggist and chemist shop independently.
Doctor of Pharmacy is a program in the field of Pharmacy that was approved by the Indian government in 2008 with the Pharmacy Council of India as the governing apex body. This three-year program involves two years of study along with one year of clinical training. The job opportunities include Clinical research associates, Hospital Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacist, Academician, etc.
Candidates willing to take admission must have completed a B.Pharm course that is recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India and RGUHS. Students shall be posted in hospital for not less than a period of seventy-five hours. Institute also offers six years of Pharm.D course.
