College of Agriculture [COA], Pune was established in the year 1907 as a Public Educational Institution. COA Pune is approved by ICAR, and is affiliated with MPKV, Pune. College of Agriculture Pune offers admission in the field of Management and Agriculture at UG/ PG level with scholarship benefits to deserving students. Dr. Sunil D. Masalkar is the Dean.
The College of Agriculture was earlier known as College of Science which was formed in 1879. Later on, its name was changed to College of Agriculture in 1907. It is amongst the first five agricultural colleges of the country. The College’s emphasis is on empowering farmers through outreach programs, practicing and promoting sustainable agricultural methods, providing extension services to rural communities and farmers, augmenting agricultural practices, providing training to students, and emphasising on developing technologies, innovative techniques and solutions. COA is the constituent college of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri.
Vision: To become the topmost agricultural college of the nation by providing quality education, advancements in technological research, enhancing knowledge in sustainable agriculture and food production, and providing livelihood security for the betterment of society.
Mission: Impart education in the domain of agriculture, undertake need-based research and practical education, and inspire individuals to adopt innovative technologies and methods for better farm production. Moreover, the college is committed to undertake partnerships and collaborations with research institutions, government agencies, and industries to foster knowledge, technology transfer, and joint research initiatives for the benefit of students.
