IIMC Kottayam

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC Kottayam) started operations in 1995 as Deemed to be University. It is approved by UGC.

IIMC Kottayam offers Post graduate Diploma courses to the aspiring candidates. The programs offered are as follows:

The candidate must fulfil the age criteria mentioned by IIMC:

• General Category: Born on or after August 1, 1999.
• For SC / ST / Students with disability: Born on or after August 1, 1994.
• For other backward classes (OBC): Born on or after August 1, 1996.

IIMC offers reserved seats for students belonging to the following category:

* Additional 5 seats are reserved for NRI / NRI-sponsored candidates in each course. Contact the concerned official for more information.

Admission Process

• Once the merit list is out, the students are supposed to fill a counselling form and list preferred courses and locations.
• The list for allocation of campus and courses is prepared on the basis of category based merit list which is then published on IIMC official website.
• The allocation of campus for Hindi, English Journalism and Digital Media is based on preference and merit basis.
• The students are then supposed to secure Admission within the enlisted duration. Candidates can deposit the prescribed fee and submit the required documents.
• The students need to get their NIC (filled at the time of counselling) certificate signed by their parents at the time of Centralised Registration Process.
• Once the verification is done, an admission slip will be issued to the students.

* The students should rank the campus on the basis of their preference at the time of counselling and the students from EWS should submit the Income and Asset certificate.

Indian Institute of Mass Communication Kottayam offers various scholarships to the students which are listed below:

• Rati Aggarwal Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a meritorious female candidate of Hindi journalism course based on her performance in Entrance Exam.
• Star TV Scholarship: It is awarded to a meritorious student of Radio and Television Journalism based on the performance of the students in the Entrance Exam. 
• Achin Ganguly Scholarship: This is awarded to 2 meritorious students of Advertising and Public Relation based on their performance in Entrance Exam and final result after the course ends.
• Jaswinder Singh Memorial Scholarship: It is awarded to 2 meritorious students, one from Hindi Journalism and other from Radio & TV Journalism based on their academic performance.
