Pune Institute of Computer Technology, located in Pune, happens to be one of the foremost engineering colleges in the country. PICT is a private, self-funded and co-educational institution founded in the year 1983. The computer technology and engineering institute was established under the aegis of SCTR (Society for Computer Technology and Research). The academic institution chiefly offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the engineering disciplines of electronics and telecommunications, computer science, and information technology.
PICT also offers Ph.D courses in electronics and telecommunication engineering and computer engineering. AICTE has approved PICT’s engineering programs while NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) have accredited the courses. The institute strives to develop competent engineers who are capable of taking advantage of their skills on a global basis.
The august engineering college has an Entrepreneurship Development Cell and R & D department for promoting development of entrepreneurial and research skills. Presently more than hundred postgraduates and over two thousand four hundred undergraduates are studying in the college. The institution commenced its journey by offering sixty seats in B.E (computer engineering). Admissions for BE (electronics and telecommunication engineering), and BE (information technology) started in 1995 and 2001 respectively.
Pune Institute of Computer Technology began offering postgraduate programs in engineering from the year 2000.
