NFSU Guwahati

National Forensic Sciences University Guwahati, established in 2023 is the ninth campus of NFSU in India. Currently, the university operates from two transit campuses located in two different parts of Guwahati (Bhangagarh and Maniari Tiniali). It offers M.Sc in Forensic Science and PG Diploma in DNA Forensics, Forensic Document Examination and Forensic Ballistics under the School of Forensic Science. It also offers B.Tech-M.Tech CSE (Cyber Security) under the School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, and M.A. (Police and Security Studies) under the School of Police Science and Security Studies.

Vision: National Forensic Sciences University Guwahati aims to address the global shortage of forensic experts by conducting research in forensic science, crime investigation, security, behavioral science, and criminology.

Mission: The university has a mission to provide high quality education in forensic science maintaining the international standard. NFSU Guwahati also intends to conduct research on crime investigation, security, behavioral science, and criminology.

Note: Candidates from SC/ST/PWD category have a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying examination for all the above-mentioned courses.

Admission Process

The admission process includes an online application through the central website of the NFSU. For admission to B.Tech-M.Tech Integrated course, candidates must appear in the National Forensic Admission Test (NFAT), which is a computer-based test created to evaluate candidates’ knowledge in GK, logical reasoning, aptitude, mathematical reasoning, data interpretation, etc.

Required Documents

Candidates must submit the following documents at the time of admission:

• Photocopy of the last examination’s mark sheet
• Original bonafide certificate or N.O.C letter from the institute, admission cancellation letter (if course not completed)
• Student affidavit on stamp paper of INR 20
• Photocopy of netcopy of the lost of misplaced grade cards (if applicable)
• Payment receipt
• Original degree certificate
• Current semester fee receipt (if applicable)

NFSU Guwahati students can avail various scholarships or fellowships from the following agencies:

• DBT
• CSIR
• SHODH

Besides the above agencies, NFSU also offers scholarships to those meritorious students who don’t receive any scholarship from any agencies.
