DIT University

DIT University was formed as an institution in 1998, and the Uttarakhand government granted it university status in 2013 and was recognized by the UGC. It is a member of reputed AIU, and its B.Arch program is approved by CoA and pharmacy courses have approval from PCI. It is also an ISO certified university, and a member of IAU. Nepal Engineering council has also recognized this university. It was also named one of the top 10 most promising architecture schools in India by Higher Education Magazine in 2022. National Employability Award 2022 was given to DITU for the second year in a row by Aspiring Minds.

Currently, schools/departments of engineering, technology, sciences, pharmacy, architecture, liberal arts and management offer significant courses for achieving success in all areas. The Doctoral, PG, UG, and Diploma programmes at the renowned university are distinguished for their academic brilliance. The college has pushed the boundaries of knowledge and innovation and created a space in technical education. Its focus is on developing a research environment that results in PhDs. Students visit important industries in various areas during scheduled field trips each semester. It accomplishes the goal of exposing people to extensive practical applications of theoretical concepts.

DIT University will only admit students based on their merit and how well they performed on the pre-qualifying exams for each programme, as determined by the university's counselling procedure. Online counselling process registration is required before the student can attend counselling. 

For B.Tech Courses students are admitted either through JEE rank based counselling or merit counselling based on 12^th class grades. 10% seats are available for direct admission for 12^th board toppers and 10% of seats are NRI or sponsored seats.

For M.Tech Courses PI is required for applicants having a valid GATE/ UGC-NET score. Candidates who do not have a GATE/ NET score, DU entrance test score and PI is asked.

The eligibility for each program:

Ph.D Courses: 55% in the relevant Master's degree from any recognised university, or an equivalent CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10, Students with NET, GATE, or SRF qualifications are always be preferred.

DIT University always supports students' academic talent and merit. The following scholarships are given by the university to deserving students in order to encourage academic success among them:

MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS (For UG Students): At the time of admission, the percentage of marks students received in specific subjects will determine if they receive a merit scholarship, which will be applied to their tuition costs for that particular year of study.

For next/subsequent years: Top 10% of students in each UG programme will be eligible for merit scholarships that will be applied to that year's tuition fees based on their CGPA. The condition for receiving a scholarship is passing all exams in one attempt, without any back papers, UFM, or discipline issues.

UTTARAKHAND / OTHER HIMALAYAN STATES SCHOLARSHIP (For UG & PG Students): Permanent inhabitants of Uttarakhand and other Himalayan States will receive a 26% scholarship on their tuition fee, and 40% of all UG and PG seats will be allocated for them. Students are needed to have a current domicile certificate at the time of reporting for counselling/admission.

SHRI NAVEEN AGARWAL JI SCHOLARSHIP (For girl students): Girls enrolled in first-year UG courses are eligible for a scholarship worth 10% on their tuition fee, requirements are:
      - Girl Students should achieve an overall average of 80% or above in Class X and XII,
      - The percentage of scholarships will not change for any entry category.
The student must maintain 8.5 CGPA or more each year, without any back papers, UFM, or cases of indiscipline, in order to keep the above mentioned scholarship.

FOR SON / DAUGHTER OF DEFENCE PERSONNEL/ MARTYRS (Indian Army/ IAF/ Navy/ ICG/ Para Military Forces/ ): Applicable to UG courses, Children of military personnel who are either serving, retired or martyred are eligible for a 5% tuition scholarship in their first year. The student will only be considered qualified to apply for this if carrying an authentic certificate or original document at the moment of admissions/counselling.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SIBLINGS: Siblings of current students and alumni are eligible for a scholarship worth 5% of their first year's tuition.

STUDENTS OPTING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION AFTER GRADUATING AT DITU: Students who are graduating from or have graduated from this university and choose to enrol in a higher degree there without a break are eligible for a scholarship worth 5% of their first year's tuition.

DIFFERENTLY ABLED STUDENTS/ WARD OF SINGLE MOTHER/ ORPHAN STUDENTS: For the child of a single mother, a 5% tuition fee scholarship is available (whose income is less than 5LPA). There is also a provision of 5% scholarships for differently abled students and orphan students.

FOR THE WARDS OF EMPLOYEES OF THE DIT UNIVERSITY: 50% off on the admission fee and 50% off on the tuition fees is given to the children of DITU employees. The Scholarship will be available for all of the courses but when an employee leaves the university, the scholarship is withdrawn. It is valid while they are still working there.

Education Loans: Students at DIT University now have access to simple education loans thanks to a partnership between University and top financial institutions including SBI, Axis Bank, Canara Bank, and PNB.
