Bishop Heber College [BHC], Tiruchirappalli was established in the year 1864 as a Public Educational Institution, currently having 33rd position in NIRF Ranking 2024. Bishop Heber College (BHC) was established in 1966. It is an autonomous college. It offers UG (BA, BBA, BCA, B.Com, and B.Sc) and PG programs (MA, MBA, MCA, M.Com, and M.Sc) to students. These programs are approved by UGC as well as affiliated with Bharathidasan University. The College is also accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade.

BHC has a Placement and Training Division which assists students in improving their employability skills to achieve their desired goals. It conducts various placement activities like skill improvement programs, mock interview sessions, guest lectures, career guidance, industrial visits, workshops, interaction with industrial experts, etc.
Besides, it focuses on quantitative aptitude of students and for that it conducts online assessment test, written test, group discussions, and personal interviews. It also provides training to students who are preparing for govt. job examinations like UPSC, NET, etc. It also has an Entrepreneurship Cell that assists and guides students who wish to initiate a start-up.
It conducts on and off campus recruitment. For on campus recruitment, it invites various well known companies that hire students on basis of personal interviews. Certain recruiters are Congnizant Technology Solutions, Omega Healthcare Private Limited, Berger Paints, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, Amazon, ICICI Bank, etc.
BHC has a world class infrastructure with a green campus. It has a peaceful and friendly environment. South India’s Thanjavur Diocese of the Church has established the Bishop Heber College in the year 1864, which is a religious minority academic institution. The institute treasures an adequate sized library that has varieties of books ranging from engineering to management. The faculty members and the students can get all the course books necessary for the academic year. The serene environment provided to the students helps them to study comfortably. The library is modern and uses the latest technology that makes the transaction of books easier.
Academia offers varieties of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and admission to these programs is based on the merit of marks of the qualifying degree. The admission in MCA and MBA is through a valid score of TANCET. For admission in Ph.D. and M.Phil, the candidates will have to appear in written test or interview.
Management is strict in terms of punctuality. Irregular attendance in class, discourtesy towards faculty, willful damage to institute property, indulgence in anti-social activities results in disciplinary action. Attendance is a must in the college functions such as association meetings, seminars, college assembly, group discussions, viva voce, industrial visits, etc. is compulsory.
