GIT Kottayam has a hard working Training & Placement Centre. The team of the Centre has strong relationships with many industries. It organises guest lectures, symposiums, workshops, seminars, etc. to enlighten the students of the upcoming job opportunities. Camps are organised for creating entrepreneurial awareness among the students. The Centre pays special attention to grooming the students professionally. On-campus recruitment drives are conducted by the associated companies. So far, students have been provided with internship and job opportunities in Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI) Bengaluru, NAC Hyderabad, IACE Ahmedabad, Skill Development Centre Bhubaneswar (SDIB), and ISIE Aurangabad, etc.

GIT Kottayam is connected to the major cities and is located on the highway near Kangazha town. The campus houses the necessary facilities to provide great educational experience to the students. The facilities include well-equipped conference and seminar halls, smart classrooms with modern teaching and learning aids, Wi-Fi connection, drinking water facility, sick room, etc.

• Library: The Institute has a Central Library that has a rich collection of books, journals, periodicals, etc. for multiple departments including engineering. The study resources include publications of both National and International authors. Moreover, computer systems are available with stable internet connection. The computers are updated with the latest system and application software. DELNET and e-books access is given to the students to improve their learning experience.
• Laboratories: The Institute has a central computer lab and several departmental computer labs for the students for academic purposes. The departmental labs and workshops have the latest machineries and instruments for the students to get hands-on experience under professional supervision. A language lab has been set up for the students to develop their communication and interpersonal skills.
• Auditorium: The Institute has a technologically advanced auditorium.
• Cafeteria: The Institute has its own cafeteria. It is spacious and has separate seating assortment for the students and the staff. The cafeteria serves different types of appetising food at minimal prices.
• Hostel: The infrastructure of the hostel is adequate. It has a great environment and is perfect for the hostellers to develop their interpersonal skills while being a part of the hostel.
• Sports: There are ample opportunities given to the students in sports such as cricket, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, carom, etc. to participate in various tournaments.
• Transport: GIT Kottayam has its own bus services operating at different routes for the students and the staff.
• Health Centre: The sick room of the College is open round the clock for the students to undergo minor first aid and treatment.
