Assam Down Town University [ADTU], Guwahati established in 2010 is a Private University, currently having 101-125 position in NIRF Ranking 2024. ADTU Guwahati was established in the year 2010. The trustees of Down Town Hospital Ltd., were the main architect of making this university happen. Assam Down Town University Guwahati campus is of 80 acres and is less than 4 miles away from the main city of Guwahati. Dr. Pratap Chandra Sarma is the chairman of the university who has managed the university to the best of his abilities. In just a shade more than a decade of its inception, the university today ranks among the top universities of North East. The university has all the recognitions and accreditations from the top bodies like AICTE, UGC, SIRO, and Govt. of Assam among others.

ADTU Common Scholarship Test is the only way to get scholarships from the university. The test is mandatory and it’s a 120 marks test paper. Each question is of 1 mark and there are negative markings too. Based on the test score, students are awarded the scholarship. Students can download the scholarship test form and submit it. On submission they will receive their admit card in which centre, date and time will be mentioned.

ADTU placements are best in the region and for that to happen the university has established an independent placement cell. The cell facilitates jobs and campus placements for the university students. For making sure that corporate, finds able students, the cell organizes a training program to imparts personality development, soft-skills, written test practice, and communication skills improvement, so that students are ready to serve both corporate and public sector.
The job of the Placement Cell is to pass on any information regarding the available slots that the corporates are looking for. Not just domestic but the university has also been able to place its students abroad too. The Placement cell never let a tame end as the placement graph has increased leaps and bounds as the students have started pouching top corporate jobs. Various interviews are organized not just in the campus but off-campus pool placements are also provided by ADTU. ADTU takes pride in organizing the biggest placement drive among the universities of Northeast.
The placement cell body consists of some ex-students and faculties. Most faculties have corporate experience behind their back and the students who are placed from the university do inform their organizations for finding potential talent at ADTU. Sports Complex – The sporting facilities of the campus boasts a playground, swimming pool, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton courts. Indoor facilities such as a pool and table tennis tables are also there at the campus for students to unwind with sports.
