Atal Medical Research University was established in 2019 under the Himachal Pradesh University of Health Sciences Act, 2017. The university is approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC), INC, DCI, NMC (MCI), and MoE (MHRD). There are 6 medical colleges, 47 nursing colleges, 4 dental colleges, 2 govt. paramedical colleges, and 4 other colleges affiliated under AMRU Mandi.
