Medhavi Skills University Bermiok

Medhavi Skills University Bermiok West Sikkim came into existence with the passing of the Sikkim Act 2021 in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly in the year 2021. The private university was founded by the Medhavi Foundation, a non-profit organisation with the aim to impart skill oriented higher education in various disciplines like Humanities, Management, Computer Applications, etc. It is approved by UGC and is recognised by NCVET, and follows the NEP 2020 policy.

Vision: The vision of the University is to inculcate skills of integrated high-tech education to ascertain a result oriented and comprehensive ecosystem.

Mission: The mission of the educational institute is to assure employability and holistic growth by promoting in-demand skill integrated higher education. It also aims at fostering the students with proper attitudes and moral values for sustainable growth in career and life.

The educational hub is providing various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with courses offered by the seven schools functioning under the university. Following is the list of the seven schools operating under the university.

• School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Sikkim
• School of Education, Humanities, and Applied Arts
• School of Healthcare and Allied Sciences, Sikkim
• School of Information and Communication Technology
• School of Media & Communication
• School of Design

These schools offer over 45 programs in various disciplines like B.A, MBA, B.Com, M.Com, BBA, Diploma, and Certificate courses.

Students who are interested in being admitted to the university to do any of the courses offered must visit the official website of the university and fill up the “Enquiry” form on the home page. Once the form is submitted meetings will be arranged with the counselors to inform the student about the course and the admission criteria in detail. The students must then select the course they want to pursue and apply online and book a seat in the university. Admission process must be followed by only those students who meet the eligibility criteria for the respective courses. The eligibility conditions of a few of the courses are listed below in the table.

An affirmation policy is followed by the Medhavi Skills University for the approval of scholarships on the grounds of merit and the scores in university’s Entrance Test. Moreover special scholarships are also awarded to a limited number of eligible students of Sikkim following the guidelines framed by the government. Apart from it, students are also facilitated to take advantage of the other national level and corporate endorsed scholarships. Students who are facing financial troubles due to lack of financial resources are offered EMI driven loans by different financing partners of the university.

Note: Merit Scholarship of 10% is continued for subsequent semesters on a condition that the CGPA should not be less than 8.0 and 80% attendance in previous semesters.
