COER University was founded by Seth Roshan Lal Jain Trust as the first private Engineering College in 1998 and later in 2021 it got its approval as a university by the Government of Uttarakhand State. This university is approved by UGC and accredited by NAAC.

Placement is an important part of the student’s life and to offer this facility to the students, the university has established an active and well-functioning COER Placement and Career Development Cell (CPCDC). This cell works on developing the individual’s practical knowledge and personality. The staff members of this cell are very active and experienced. They maintain healthy and professional relations with the recruiting companies so that they visit the University for on-campus Placement Drives. Some major objectives of CPCDC are:
The CPCDC starts its work on the students from the fresh year and offers them various Summer Internship programs at various national and international companies. This cell works on providing four to six weeks of real-time professional work experience to the students so that they explore the corporate world and gain experience. This cell also monitors the growth of the students regularly and helps them develop links & contacts within the industry. This is done by conducting regular workshops, seminars, HR meets, career fairs, expert talks, conferences, etc. The cell follows a dedicated Placement Process while providing job and employment opportunities to the students so that everything works in a system and every student gets the opportunity to apply for placements.

Located at Post Box No. 27, Roorkee-Haridwar Road, Vardhmanpuram, the campus of the university is 7 km away from Roorkee and 180 km from Delhi, and is spread over an area of 75 acres. The campus is surrounded by greenery and the infrastructure is modern and well-equipped with all the major academic resources & needs. To cheer up students, the university organises various cultural and musical programs to promote Folk Music, Classical Dance, Yoga, Mediation, and Indian Classical Music. The university also motivates its students to take part in various competitions and plays like the Kite Flying Competition, Nukkad Play, Poster-making & Mask-making Competitions, Quiz Competitions, etc. This helps the students in showcasing their interests and hidden talents.
