SDM Law College was established in 1974, for providing education in the legal field. The college has been accredited with “A” grade by NAAC, and has been affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi.

SDM Law College Kodialbail offers numerous courses in the field of law. It’s course structure includes UG courses such as B.A.LL.B, B.B.A.LL.B, LL.B, PG courses which include LL.M, apart from these other courses such as Doctoral, Post Graduate in Diploma, Certificate & Add on courses related to law subjects, are also offered.

Every year, SDM Law College Kodialbail, provides admission to the eligible students on the basis of merit secured by them in the qualifying examination as well as in the entrance test conducted by the college. Different entrance examinations are conducted for different courses, for which students have to apply online.

The college provides scholarships on the basis of various factors such as, merit, attendance, and good conduct of the students. There are scholarships for merit holders, subject to the income of the parents of the students. Certain scholarships are fixed for students belonging from SC/ ST & Backward Class on the basis of marks & income. Scholarships are also offered to the wards of Service personnel or ex-servicemen. Apart from the scholarships, gold medals & cash prizes are also provided to the students on the basis of their academic performance.
